"We are a learning community, working together to provide a safe, caring and supportive environment.
Our learning journey will be creative, challenging and personalised...
to be the best we can."

Our school council and ambassadors recently enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to the Douglas City Hall, where they met the Mayor and observed a live Douglas City Council meeting.
The afternoon began with a warm welcome from the Mayor, who explained his role and the importance of local government in shaping our community. While enjoying some juice and biscuits, the students asked insightful questions about leadership, decision-making, and how young people can contribute to positive change. All students also had the opportunity to hold the mace.

One of the most memorable parts of the visit was sitting in on a real council meeting. The pupils watched as councillors debated and voted on issues that affect the city. It was a fascinating experience that gave them a first-hand look at how democracy works at a local level. The visit left our students inspired and full of ideas to bring back to school.

A huge thank you to the Mayor and Douglas City Council for making this visit so special!
