Scoill Vallajeelt

"We are a learning community, working together to provide a safe, caring and supportive environment.
Our learning journey will be creative, challenging and personalised...
to be the best we can."

On Thursday 20th July 2023, we held our final assembly to give out our awards and also day goodbye to Y6, Mrs. Thorpe and Mr. George.

Y6 have had a wonderful final year at Scoill Vallajeelt and are more than ready to go to secondary school. We wish them well as they leave to start in Y7 in September!!

Mrs. Thorpe is leaving Scoill Vallajeelt after 5 years and is going got be a Deputy Headtecher in Oldham. We would like to thank Mrs. Thorpe for all her hard work at Scoill Vallajeelt and wish her lots of love as she moves back to Manchester.

We also said goodbye to Mr. George at our assembly after 33 years of teaching on the Island-22 of them being at Scoill Vallajeelt! We played our final trick on him and asked him to wear his suit for Thursday.....whilst we all came to school dressed as Mr. George out on a hike! (One of his favourite pastimes!)
The children had really entered the spirit with one child coming complete with rucksack, map, compass and butterfly net!! Mr. George was suitably impressed and overcome at the same time!

One final surprise for Mr. George was that every time Miss Lyon said "MASK" in assembly, the children put a cut-out picture of Mr. George's face in front of theirs to reveal an assembly FULL of Mr. Georges!!! That was the most scariest sight of all!!
Mr. George gave a very touching speech at the end and the children gave him a new mantra-Goodbye tension, hello pension!!
