Last week, our School Council and student ambassadors had the exciting opportunity to visit the historic Tynwald building as part of a special Q&A tour. This unique experience gave our young leaders a chance to explore the heart of Manx democracy and learn more about how Tynwald has shaped the Isle of Man over centuries.
The tour began with a walk through the building’s impressive chambers, where students were introduced to the rich history of Tynwald—one of the oldest continuous parliaments in the world. They learned how the institution has evolved over time and how it functions today to serve the people of the island.
Throughout visit, students were encouraged to ask questions and engage with what they saw and heard. From the ceremonial traditions to the modern-day legislative process, there was plenty to spark curiosity and discussion.
Our students left inspired and informed, with a deeper appreciation for the democratic process and the role of civic engagement. A big thank you to the team at Tynwald for making this educational experience so memorable!
