On Saturday 22nd June, we took part in the Chess Congress, it was a lovely atmosphere and very intense at times.
Five teams took part and each team had six players. The first round was our rest round so our team took the time to practise. The second round we played against Manor Park where we took all 6 points winning every game. In the third round we played against Kewaigue and we won 5 out of 6 games. This was the same in round four and five when we played Bunscoill Rhumsaa A and B.
Out of a total of 24 points, we scored an impressive 21 -only losing three games in total. This meant Scoill Vallajeelt finished in 1st place!!! A huge congratulations to everyone who took part you all should be very proud of yourselves, especially Aditya who won the No.1 board (Best Player)!
