Douglas Borough Council came into school to judge the entries of the daffodil growing competition on Tuesday 1st March. There are two elements to the competition-the Best Daffodil in each class and then the Best Decorated Pot in each class.
Taking care of a daffodil so it grows from a bulb into a flower is a tricky business and even trickier is making sure it is in bloom on judgment day!
The room where the judging took place looked very spring-like from the smell to the beautiful shades of yellow.
Well done to all the green-fingered children (and adults!) who coaxed a flower out at the right time and also congratulations to all the creativity that went into the pot decoration-they certainly looked striking!
Two winners was announced for each class (Best Daffodil and Best Pot) and then a Best Daffodil and Best Pot from across the whole school.
Each winner was awarded a chocolate Easter Egg.
Thank you to Douglas Borough Council for organising this competition for the children.
