WOW! What a performance by our choir at The Guild last week! We came 3rd overall with 85 marks! The children performed to the school in assembly in the morning as their final rehearsal and then in the Royal Hall at the Villa Marina in the afternoon for the competition. Mrs. Dixon and Mrs. Warrington were SO proud of the children who sung their hearts out to impress! The adjudicator commented that the first piece they sang was “sensitive” and with their second they managed to get “the sense of fun across”.
Well done to all the children who competed in The Guild during the festival. We had lots of children who briefly left and returned during the school day to perform in classes such as solo instruments, singing and acting. Standing up in front of an audience really takes a lot of courage and combining that with playing an instrument or demonstrating another skill certainly makes it more nerve-wracking.
