During this week, the children took part in activities to learn about a different country. This year we chose China and all the classes spoke about what they would like to find out which meant there was a complete variety in our learning. Amongst other activities, Y4 made some excellent dragon puppets, Y5 did some traditional landscape watercolours and Y1 learned about the Chinese Zodiac. Mrs. Cheung popped into class to help Mr. George teach Y4 how to count and say some basic phrases. At the end of the week, all the children participated in a Chinese Sounds Workshop and had the chance to play percussion to accompany Chinese drumming, dress up and also learn about how music plays such an important part in Chinese culture. There was an excited buzz in the school all week which led to a crescendo at the Chinese Sounds Workshop which the children thoroughly enjoyed.
