On Thursday 14th December, Mrs Brew from Grant Thornton Isle of Man came into school to present some prizes to the children. On Monday 13th November, we celebrated World Kindness Day and all children from years 1 to 6 entered a Drawing Competition to design a poster that embodies their own perspective on kindness to celebrate World Kindness Day.
In a gesture of kindness for every entry received, Grant Thornton Isle of Man donated to its chosen Charity of the Year for 2023 ‘Wish Upon a Dream’. For this year’s entries (a high percentage from Scoill Vallajeelt) they donated £1,500!
The competition had four age categories: 5 and under, 6-7 years, 8-9 years, and 10 and above. Scoill Vallajeelt had winners in all four categories!
5 and under: 1St Place was awarded to Charlie Vorster.
6-7 years: 1st Place was awarded to Marcus, 2nd Place to Aalin Kaniewski and 3rd Place to James Swinhoe.
8-9 years: 1st Place was awarded to Ishaan Mishra and 3rd Place to Kiegan Harper.
10 and above: 1st Place was awarded to Afsheen Zakir.
1st place in each category also earned a coveted £100 book voucher for our school, winning all 4 categories means we now have £400 in book vouchers to spend at Waterstones!
Well done to all our winners and everyone who entered!
