Scoill Vallajeelt

"We are a learning community, working together to provide a safe, caring and supportive environment.
Our learning journey will be creative, challenging and personalised...
to be the best we can."

Scoill Vallajeelt is a one form entry primary school in Douglas on the Isle of Man. Our school was opened in 1992 and our name means “school of the home of the saddle” as we are situated in the Saddlestone area.

We pride ourselves on making sure our children feel safe and happy whilst placing enormous emphasis on excellent learning behaviours. Our staff believe that learning should be fun and so we plan lots of exciting events, trips and experiences to engage and motivate the children.

Within our school, we have highly motivated staff and children who feel listened to. Our School Council inform the staff about what events and ideas the children would like to see developed in school. In particular, the children enjoy inviting their parents in to share their learning and also exploring our local Manx heritage to enhance our curriculum.

Scoill Vallajeelt has a wonderful tradition of not only high academic standards, but also success in music, drama performances, close links with the local community and celebrating every child’s learning journey.

Scoill Vallajeelt is located on Meadow Campus and we share this campus with St. Thomas' C of E Primary School. Whilst each school has it’s own “footprint” on the campus, some facilities are shared across both schools such as the assembly hall, dining area, sports hall, playground etc. The children have shared playtimes and dinnertimes but have lessons in their own school though at times there may be joint learning.
